Duracell Optimum nominal battery voltage (ie the approximate voltage value used to identify the battery type) is the same as the nominal voltage of other Duracell alkaline batteries (1.5V), yet, Duracell Optimum has an additional active secret ingredient to its cathode on top of its alkaline chemistry, allow to deliver a higher actual running voltage (ie the actual voltage delivered to the device) than the next best Duracell battery in a wide range of devices.
